How to perform a motorcycle safety inspection on a bike you haven't ridden in a while, or a new to you motorcycle. This might just save your life, see below for a list of items to check. This is not how to do each of these things, just what to inspect. If you want more information on any of these tasks leave a comment below and I will cover it in greater detail in another video.

Things you should look at:

◾TIRES (TREAD DEPTH, WEAR MARKS, PRESSURE)
◾RIMS (BROKEN SPOKES, MAG WHEELS FREE OF DAMAGE)
◾BEARINGS (GREASE, NO SIDE TO SIDE FREEPLAY)
◾BRAKES (PADS, BRAKE CALIPERS, NO LEAKS, DAMAGE, ETC., BRAKE HOSES SAME)
◾HANDLEBARS (FREE MOVING, CABLE ROUTING, TIGHT BOLTS)
◾CHECK MIRRORS (WHILE SEATED)
◾LEVERS AND PEDALS (FREE MOVING, NO SNAGS)
◾THROTTLE (SNAPS BACK WHEN RELEASED, SMOOTH AND DOESN'T STICK)
◾ELECTRICAL (CHECK LIGHTS, HORN, SWITCHES, LENSES ARE CLEAN WITH NO CRACKS, HEADLIGHT, BATTERY TERMINALS TIGHT AND NO CORROSION, ZIP TIE ARE WEAK POINTS, ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS, ETC.)
◾FLUIDS (OIL, COOLANT, FUEL, BRAKE AND CLUTCH FLUID LEVELS AND LOOK FOR DISCOLORATION)
◾FRAME (BOLTS ON FRAME ARE TIGHT, GO OVER ALL FRAME)
◾FINAL DRIVE (CHAIN/BELT TENSION, LUBE (FOR CHAINS) AND CLEAN)
◾SIDE STAND (SNAPS BACK, STAYS UP)
