December 13, 2008 brought an end to the Texas off Road Nationals season (TORN). Hunter Budd (COB 399) and Jason Norman (COB 439) both ended the season with state championships in the 50 Exp. and 50 Int. respectively. Hunter and Jason also had strong finishes in the 65 classes as well. Hunter ending on the podium with a 3rd place overall and Jason just off the podium but ending the season with strong finishes showing much improvement he had from all his hard work.
As a special side note, Hunter Budd and Jason Norman were on a team with Nathan Wood and Blake Harris. The team was called Pee Wee power and it was packed with talent, loaded with speed and destine to close the season with a bang. Team Pee Wee Power closed the season with what hockey calls a hat trick, bowling calls a turkey and baseball calls a grand slam. The team was the only team all season long to have all 4 members take a win and gaining 100 pints per rider for the perfect score. We’re excited to have been ask to join this team and became more impressed with how well the guys came to together and put the team on the podium at every race. Congrats to the guys.
The TORN banquet will be January 18th and we could not be more excited for all the champions.
This same weekend, Riley Allen (COB 306) was at oak Hill for the 17th annual GNC TOP TEXAN race. Riley rode super and had the speed, only fell short by a little ending the day with two 2nd place finishes 1 in the 4-6 and 1 in the open class. Good job little guy, you’re riding great.
Justice, Jacob and Parker all took the weekend to practice hard at the MX Underground. Many talented riders were on hand for some real training with the best in the area. We look forward to the guys showing off what they learned.
Coming up we have All-star Amateur race at Freestone Dec 31 and hopefully we can make the Cycle city promotions Arena Cross race at Monroe , LA so we’re looking forward to some fun racing during the holidays.
King Cobra of Texas would like to thanks all our customers for a great year and wish each and everyone one of you a Merry Christmas!!

These are great action shots that should be enjoyed full size, check them out ... On the Gate, First Corner, Battling
It’s winter in Texas and time for the FMF Texas Winter series, one of the largest Texas race series of the year. This series brings many snow bird racers down for training and track time on the best track Texas has to offer.
King Cobra riders were on the track as well as many of our customers from other states. It’s always great to see our customers and put a face with a name. We spend hours working with moms and dads on parts, bike setup and track questions so when we are able to say hello face to face it’s always a plus.
The FMF Winter Series opened at Freestone Raceway, one of the toughest tracks around. The start is a right handed switch back that always causes grief and this time it was no exception, for both Justice Hayes (COB 808) and Riley Allen (COB 306). Both local hot shoes had great jumps off the gate and both crashed out in the first corner of the first moto. Riley had some highlights in the O/I class taking a hard fought win in the first moto, but backing that up with a nasty crash making a 3rd overall in the O/I class and a 2nd overall in the 4-6 class, good job for the little guy we call grand-pa.
Justice struggled much of the day with errors and accidents, trying hard to work to the front, but was unable to get into the groove we all know he has. Next race I’m sure he’ll bring his complete package, we are however surprised at his starts and are super glad he’s not banger up after the crashes he had.
Jason Norman (COB 439) did not attend the Freestone race so that he could focus on his CC title in the TORO cross country series. Jason won the 50 class but really struggled in the 65 INT class. Jason with get back on track this coming weekend at the May pearl TORN CC race, wrapping up a Texas title in the 50 class and a strong finish in the 65 class should get his confidence back for sure.
Hunter Budd entered the next phase of his racing, only taking on the 65cc class. For the first time we came to a race and didn’t put Hunter on a 50, it was strange for sure. Hunter did better then expected taking his Cobra CX65 to some good starts and 2 solid finishes in the Open and the 6-9 class. He was able to battle to a 6th overall with a 6-5 score in the 6-9 class and managed a top 10 in the open class posting a 9-8 for a 9th overall. Not too bad for some loaded gates, both classes had more then 27 riders, not just riders, but quality stock to train and ride against, we’re really pleased with the fight Hunter showed racing against other Cobra riders in the 6-9 class. Michael Hicks (COB 460) out of Fenton , Mo and Wesley Banks (COB 998) out of Calhoun , LA was in town and both rode strong. Dylan Butcher (COB 793) and Broc Hart (COB 444) were in the game also, Broc on his new CARD 65 and Dylan on both his 50 and CX65, both guys rode strong and added to the results for Cobra and adding to the great showing for the Cobra 65. Cobra 65 is getting bigger and better and it was great to see so many on the gate.
Next up will be some CC racing at May pearl in the TORN series, some AX in Monroe, LA and of course the next Winter Series race at Swan. Join us there I’m sure you’ll love the tracks.
I wanted to take a moment to say thanks to all our customers for the patronage, we know you have choices and we hope we can continue to provide all of your Cobra needs. Merry Christmas to each and every Mom and Dad, many of which wear many hats including a Santa Hat and to all of you riders, who put it on the line every weekend for the fun of the sport. Enjoy the season and be safe during the holidays.
Update! Update! Update! Yes I know it’s been to long, things have been fast paced around here lately. Like usual lots of series, too many tracks to go to. We’ve had local Arenacross, some cross country and of course a handful of motocross. With hunter and Tyler aging out this year, they have been rounding out their 50 racing with some cool races. Tyler raced the night nationals and showed again why he’s one of the top 50 riders in the nation and growing stronger on the 65 everyday. As he ends his riding with our shop and head to new ventures in his racing we thank him greatly for all the effort Tyler showed placing his Cobra on the top box just about every weekend.
Hunter will remain with King Cobra of Texas and ride the CX65, he’s got a little more time about the CX65 and shows much improvement. In the last month Hunter has raced in several places, Graham AX, Vegas US open, and Cooperland. As well as many many local MX and the TORN series. Hunter is consistency a front runner and we’re super proud of him. Taking a 3rd in Vegas at the US Open was a heck of a way to end the 50cc racing and open the door to the 65.
Jason Norman will remain with us aboard the CX65 next year, wrapping up his 50 career with some good racing. Possibly one of the most improved racers we have Jason has come along way. Storm-in Norman will end the season with a TORN cross country championship in the 50 INT class. He’ll be moving to the CX65 and race cross country, as well as MX. We wish him lots of luck next season.
We’ve also added a few for the new season, Riley Allen will be moving to the 50JR, a scrappy little guy I like to call grandpa. Riley has a little growing pains, but shows great promise. We’re looking for grandpa to place his CX50JR in the top 3 at just about every race he attends, pretty good goals with no doubt he’ll achieve.
Justice Hayes and little brother Jacob will also be riding for King Cobra of Texas. Justice a proven front runner with lots of desire will be moving to the SR bike, he’s improving every day so we’ll begin to see the big smile he always has on the podium soon. Jacob is the new comer, but can scoot around on the PW like a rabbit. He’ll be taking over the O/I class this year.
Parker Mashburn will be our national rider. Locally in Texas we feel he’s one of the best around. The little brother to Hunter Mashburn and son of MX trainer Zak Mashburn the kids got skill and we’re super stocked to have him in the house. Parker has proven his skill in the 4-6 and soon will move to the SR bike where he’s already been a front runner. So as you can see the King Cobra of Texas line up this year looks good, a fun bunch of kids that have tons of talent, all are respectful good kids. Keep their grades on par and really show sportsmanship on the track.
As we move into the new year we have plans to ride a few big races, Parker will be going to Florida , Hunter and Tyler will race Freestone, Justice and Riley will most likely be at Freestone as well. Hunter will end the TORN season with a 50cc championship and a top 3 in the 65 INT class.

Welcome to Texas racing! Man what a long weekend, with too much racing: Is that possible? The weekend started early at Village Creek on Friday, Hunter Budd (COB 399) loves this place; it’s a great track and always fun. Hunter entered into both 50s and 65s eager to show he’s been doing his time on the Cobra 65cc. When it was all over he headed to badlands MX Park with a complete sweep, 4 first places in usual Hunter style. The cool thing aside from the wins, was the half time show, some nut case set his bike on fire and jumped the finish line while bombs went off. It was cool for sure, but crazy also!
So we race off to badlands to contest the finial race in the Full Moon Series. All the big trophies were there for the pickings, Hunter Budd, Tyler Sudderth and Riley Allen all cleaned up. Tyler and Hunter would go wheel to wheel on the 50 sr classes, ending with Tyler in front every time, the kids got skills and he’s tough to beat once he pulls the holeshot. Hunter kept him in check, but could not get a wheel in for the pass. Riley Allen had a few lay downs, but managed to stay near the front keeping his overalls in the series alive, ending with a 1st in the O/I and 1st in the 4-6. After the race at Badlands and the results were in, King Cobra of Texas gave a trick looking BMX bike away, Jesse James Millican was the winner, the kid earned the bike riding hard all series long, finishing just off the podium several times. Congratulations to Jesse and we hope he enjoys the new cool BMX scooter.
Shortly after packing up we head off to Swan for the 3rd round of the Pro Circuit series. Tired as all get out, but we made it, Hunter Budd and Riley Allen both made the trek to Swan, but not both did well. Hunter swept the 50s, but struggled in the 65 classes ending in the back of the back off pace for sure. He said he was not tired, but it was clear to see he was worn out. Riley on the other hand could not steer away from wrecks, busting up 3 out of 4 motos. Ending with 1 cracked visor and a real bent ego. Better luck next time Grand paw!

This past weekend took the King Cobra of Texas team and most of the racers from north Texas to 3 palms MX Park for a bit of a north verse south race. With the skies opening up to a late rain, the track was tougher then expected, but the guys took it on with no worries.
The 50 sr. class had a good mix of riders, of course Hunter and Tyler were there, but adding to the fun was Drew Brennen COB 470. From the first gate you could tell the night was going to be good. Hunter pulled a holeshot and lead a little, then Drew took the lead, with Hunter taking it back only to be crossed up in lapped traffic allowing Drew to knife in and steal the lead back, Hunter ran out of time with the laps cut to 2, in the end Drew came away with the first moto win, with Hunter in a wheel to wheel second and Tyler drawing a 3rd, that would change in the next motos.
After the excitement of the first moto it would be hard to imagine it could be better, Hunter pulled another holeshot but Tyler took that away fast, taking the rest of the lap with no worries. Hunter got second and Drew 3rd, in the next motos it would start with Jesse James Cob 515 snagging a cool holeshot, and end with Tyler in front. The overalls went to Tyler 1st, Hunter with 2nd and Drew with a 3rd. a true 3 way tie, pretty cool.
In the 4-6 class the track was real tough for the little guys, but all of the riders did the best they could. It came down to the battle of the Riley’s. With Riley Allen and Riley Childers you never know who can make it happen, but the rider that rode hard and got a win was Grant Walker. Way to go all the guys, too many to name were in the mix, but with steady racing it was Riley Allen taking the overalls, great job “Grandpa!”.
After 3 palms we headed to Swan like some sleepy nut cases, some would think we’re just crazy and most would agree with that including myself. We left at 2 am from 3 Palms and arrived half dead to Swan at 5:30; a few others made the trip so they could keep the points alive in the Lonestar series also. The racing was mostly just the norm, nothing great except the 65 class, we had some guys from OK and LA both were putting on a show, Wesley Banks from LA came out ahead on his CX65 rode super and showed what the Cobra 65 can do, Hunter also rode to a steady 4th, not to bad for the company he was in.
So as you can see we’ve been at the track and we’ll be there this coming weekend, Oak Hill is running the Good Times National, and Village Creek is hosting the Pro Circuit and King Cobra of Texas will be at both to support our customer and riders. Hopefully I’ll get the results written up and posted here before we head to Vegas for the US Open!! 13 Aug 08 Check out the new Ponca City pictures on our photos page and the Village Creek shots of some of our great customers!
11 Aug 08 Be sure to look for King Cobra of Texas riders at the
As I sit here cruising at 30 thousand feet aboard American airlines MD80 two things dawn on me, one I need to quit eating like a horse and the other is I have time to catch up on our web site. The first thing I can’t help much as of yet, so I’ll just loosen up the belt a little, the second I sure can.
I look out the window at the weather and the specs that house the people of the world, and I’m taken back, to some of the best racing Texas has offered lately. The guys have been on track and really training for Ponca City. We’ve also have The Full Moon Series to take on, as well as Torn and some LL qualifiers.
Lets begin with the little guys, Devin and Justice, the little guys have been doing a super job keeping their Cobras out front, Devin has had a few snags, but is still doing super his dad keeps me posted and it would seem in that neck of the woods even the big bikes have much to fear from this up and comer. Justice was right were he needed to be for both Ponca and Loretta’s till he crashed at the regional qualifier at Freestone. We couldn’t have been more bummed for him and his family. Justice was doing super, with Ponca set up and was on track for LL also, but that’s racing. We expect him to get back in the groove in the next few weeks, with the Full Moon series.
Tyler Sudderth has been on a rampage; just about every race he’s entered he has put his King Cobra ride up front. Winning several Ponca qualifiers as well as most races in the Full Moon series He’s been racing his butt off getting ready for Ponca, but things didn’t go as well as planned. Tyler had 2 moments of glory combined with a handful of bad luck. In the 65 mod class Tyler pulled a monster holeshot but didn’t make it back around without a big mistake taking him out of any chance to make the main. In the 50 classes he had bike issues, coupled with mistakes, but man he was jumping the finish line like a pro, and had a huge top 5 finish in a divisional cut. The bad news came in the mains for the 50s, in the mod his frame cracked taking him out of the race and with no bike for the super pee wee it was game over. We are excited for the rides Tyler did have and look forward to watching him continue is winning ways.
Next up would be Jason, who was coming off a broken hand and just could not get up to speed. With moments of shinning, combined with just some kind of fear, Ponca did have his number. He rode well, but just couldn’t get back to his speed before the broken hand. I expect a few local races will cure that, but time will tell. We were all proud of what he did regardless.
Then we have Hunter Budd, the little guy rode just excellent. Taking his trade mark consistency and applying it to Ponca. Hunter finished well in his divisional cuts, making the Saturday show in all his classes. Well inside our goals to make the mains, and get a top 20 finish I was just taken with his solid rides. Hunter did wonderful Placing 16th in the stock, 15th in the Mod and 12th in the Super Pee Wee. With direct orders not to jump or try the finish line jump I really feel good about where we finished. Everyone in front of him was either factory or factory support save a few. So we continue to work at it, but really loved how his riding turned out.
With all the racing we have done in the past few months I’m sure I’m leaving out much. In the Full Moon Series, Hunter and Tyler have been trading wins with most going to Tyler, with these two guys often it comes down to the start. Hunter has been kicking but at Torn as well riding his 50 to real convincing wins, and taking the 65 class by storm. He also raced the Freestone amateur days race trading wins with Ryan Fellser and destroying the 50 class on the Saturday during the freestone national.
We also took time to attend a yearly event for our family and friends, what used to be known as the Whoops Racing party has become a yearly pilgrimage to Bubbas (No not that Bubba but close) place to tear up his track, get wet with bike jumps into the pond and the new pit bike races. The pit bike race was too fun, no one wanted Hunter to ride, but we gave in and made “Special” rules for him. He had to get off his bike and run around a barrel, he had to jump all the jumps, and we stopped him a few times to give the others and edge. It was a fun time complete with fireworks and cold ones.
So as you can see we stay darn busy doing the racing thing. We’re having a super time meeting great people and keeping our Cobras out front. I’d like to thank our customers for the loyalty in the past year and hope I can continue to meet their needs. As Hunter and Tyler graduate from the 50s and move to the 65 class, I see lots of skilled riders coming up and I look forward to helping each of our little guy be the best they can.
So until later please continue the great support for our guys and we’ll continue to do all we can to make your 50/65 experience as painless as possible.

It’s The first of June, that trophy time of year for the spring series wrapping up. King Cobra of Texas riders have hit the bench mark in the north Texas area and set the standard for sure in the 2 major series. The Racing has been fast and furious for the guys with some real challenges to over come.
Jason Norman (Cob 439) cracked a bone in his hand and had to just ride slowly to finish well in both the FMF night series and the Spring Champion series, Jason has come a long way and disserves a huge pat on the back for taking 2nd in both series. It was
Tyler Sudderth (Cob 317) taking the lion share of the wins, Tyler has been in a training program preparing for the nationals and it sure has been paying off. Tyler ’s speed is right there with some top notch national riders, like Challen Tennant (Pol 71) and Gabriel Jairala (Cob 111) all three riders are doing Texas proud. Tyler took a first in both 50 classes in the FMF series and did super on his 65 also even though it’s green
J.
Hunter Budd (Cob 399) has also been doing well on both 50 and the Cobra 65 taking just about every win available in the 50 and 65 classes during the Championship series. This was a super fun series hosted by Village Creek, all the riders had a super time racing there and they even changed it up a few times racing both the day and night track.
Justice Hayes (Cob 808) has also been super consistent with finishes, and noticeable speed on his new CX50Jr while still working on his trip to Loretta’s aboard his PW50. Justice would go on to finish 2nd in the inj 4-6 riding his PW against other bigger bikes, he also finished 2nd overall in the 4-6 class so all in all steady riding, great program and super kids.
We are looking forward to the second half of the year. Some top series are coming as well as the second major round of nationals. The Texas Full moon series always brings some of the best riders out, Ponca is just around the corner and Hunter will be racing at the US open in Vegas as well. We have big plans in the works so stay tuned for a few surprises and changes in the web as well as track side.
I wanted to take a few moments to recognize the kids parents, because we here at King Cobra of
Texas are blessed to have an outstanding group of kids and parents. The kind that you see at the track having fun, and which enjoy the racing for what it is. We stress team work and sportsmanship here and I think our guys are great spokesmen for the sport. All the parents are always willing to help no matter what kind of bike the youngster has. They keep it fun for our riders and pull for each other no matter how they finish, so I just felt I wanted to say thanks to a wonderful group of supporters for showing us all what it takes to win and be humble.
On a personal note; during the opening ceremonies for the Spring Championship series at Village Creek I was reminded just what this country is about and why I’ve always told Hunter to stand at attention and salute the flag during the national anthem. As the announcer put the anthem on, Hunter stopped playing and stood proud, and told the younger kids to pay attention. It was a real moment for me and I was super proud of him.

Last weekend began at out new home track of Village Creek,
Jason and
Hunter both took the track by storm, running the front pace, both also got some time on the 65 which they needed. The wins went to Hunter but the most improved rider award would go to Jason Norman for sure. In the last month this guy has really turned it around. He’s a threat on the gate for sure.
When we went to Oak Hill we had no idea just how great the racing would be, All the King Cobra of
Texas riders had really exciting rides. With Challen Tennant on hand for the Ponca qualifier, we kind of had our concerns that the wins would be tough and they were. Tennant had more bad luck then any rider I’ve seen in a long time but was truly fastest on the day, but with the mistakes both Hunter and Tyler were there to snap up some wins. Hunter Budd (Cob 399) took the 50 7-9 super pee wee class with
Tyler Sudderth (Cob 317) taking the 50 7-8 Mod class. Jason Norman was also on his game taking 2 3rd places and a 6th in the 50 7-8 stock class.
Justice Hayes (Cob 808) was a tough customer on his new CX50JR, he loves oak Hill and riders the rough stuff so well, he took some awesome starts and all the wins in the 4-6 stock and mod. Great job from the little man.
This was a mixed day with all the riders having fun and changing it around, but it was super great to see all the kids get to relax on the line while they did some track work, kids see thing on a different plane then adults. The guys just hung out and played in the dirt each making their own track layout pretending to jump the Supercross doubles and blitzing the whoops in 5th gear!.
Next up we had Swan and the North Texas Spring series. This race had some good local riders on hand, but it was a King Cobra of
Texas night putting on a show, Tyler was the rider with the speed, with Hunter close on his heals, Jason took the lead for a bit, but fell of pace to hold onto 3rd. So King Cobra riders went 1-2-3 in both 50 classes. Justice had some up front rides, but Riley Allen set the pace with Justice have several soil samples, Congrats to Riley, he rode super and was lots of fun to watch. He’s come a long way.
Kevin Cote our eastern front rider has have rainouts for the past 2 races, he just inching to get his new CX50JR on a gate and up to speed. We look forward to hearing about his results, so far practice on the bike has proven to be fruitful. Good luck little man!
Next up we have more local racing, Ponca qualifiers and Torn race that got rained out. Good luck to all our riders who put it on the gate ride smart and be safe.

King Cobra of Texas riders have been hard at work putting their Cobras up front and showing why they ride the best. Over the past 2 weekends much has been going on, race one and two of the Texas Night Series have been raced and King Cobra of Texas riders showed very well.
Tyler Sudderth (Cob317),
Justice Hayes (Cob808) and
Jason Norman
(Cob439) all placed super well and the season is going to be great. Tyler so far has won every race with Jason keeping him in check, with some very good racing. Jason has really stepped it up and with hunter out during these past races it’s been great to see Jason fill in the gaps. Justice has also been on a rail, showing well in both the O/I class and the 4/6 class taking 2nd and 3rd place finishes behind a super national rider, so we know we’re in good shape for Justice. Our latest edition to the Cobra force is
Devin Cote (Cob006), from Seaford Delaware, this little guy has been the nightmare of most east coast riders in the O/I class and with his new CX50JR on the way the 4/6 class has a storm headed it’s way also.
On the shop front we’ve been working hard to spread the word that King Cobra of Texas is a top shop with the youth classes, we just signed with
Village Creek as a track sponsor, aligning ourselves with this top regional track is going to be a real step in the right direction, we are excited and look forward to backing the track and spreading the word that Village Creek is an awesome track with great facilities. One of our main reasons for going with Village Creek was the fit; Village Creek fit our goal, to provide a safe fun environment with the riders in mind. This weekend kicks off the Village Creek Spring Series, offering free entry to some classes and reduced gate fees. This in a time were most tracks are taking the lint from your pocket.
This weekend will be full for sure, Hunter will be back from the DL and he’s headed to Village for the Spring series, then off to May Pearl for the next TORN race. Jason will be there also, both are in the hunt for the number one spot. Tyler will be at Oak Hill for the Ponca qualifier as will Justice both riders love that place so we expect great things and wish them luck.

Well what can be said about Texas and the racing over the last month, just amazing! We have seen 2 nationals, more then 10 local races and that’s just the start of the year. On the national scene, Tyler Sudderth and Justice Hayes both did a super great job of getting track time and proving they can run near the front. Both riders were on track for top 10 or better when they had a snag. Justice was just getting his CX50JR up to speed and had several dirt samples that cost him big time. He’s all right and will regroup. He’s a smart rider that learns from his mistakes and gets better. Tyler also was strong on the track and had respectable times against a very stacked gate. I’m proud to have both riders ride with us.
This past weekend Justice Hayes went to Cycle Ranch MX Park for the LL qualifier. He did just what he needed to. He got more confidence, more speed and more consistent. Putting up a 1-1 in the O/I class and a solid 4-2 in the 4-6 class. Great job, the easy part is done, now he’ll have to go to Freestone for the regional and prove he’s for real, we believe he will or he’ll leave it on the track, that’s just the way he is.
Hunter Budd (COB 399) raced TORN at village creek, his home track and wow was he gunning for the win. Hunter put in some real fast laps, pulling the holeshot and running away with the win. Cole Neal was there and he rode super, but Hunter was not going to let him come to his house and raid the frig! In the 65 class Hunter chose to ride his 50 and ride it well. Hunter got off to the early lead but lappers made for a hard time and he fell back to 3rd. he was way on pace though and we look forward to better races in the 65 class.
Tyler and Hunter both raced the finial race of the Central Yamaha series at Badlands over the weekend also. Tyler had a very large lead and hunter was on the bubble for 2nd, but when the gate dropped it was the all Tyler and Hunter show because they both took off and finished the way the series would end, 1-1 with Tyler getting another championship and Hunter following suit with 2nd.
Much coming up for the guys, but the main thing would he the Dallas SX and were all going to be their to support our favorite racers.
Thanks you to all the Moms and Dads, who race Cobras and support the kids! We are blessed in
Texas to have great tracks, Great riders and Great parents.

Welcome to Texas , right now it’s National time of year. Thousands of dreamers have converged to Whitney for the 14th annual Whitney Spring Classic. The bench mark for a years worth of racing. The following week Oak hill holds the GNC national, and again the racers want to put their stamp on the results. Tyler Sudderth (COB 317) just wrapped up Whitney, with mixed results. While having some good ups, he also had a few downs, in the form of soil samples and lapper mishaps. His best finish was a 7th, with his worst being 28th, not too bad considering he’s racing 40 of the best in the country. We’re proud of his results and I’m sure he’ll bounce back at oak hill, where he’ll join Justice Hayes (COB 808) for the week. Justice just received his new CX50JR and the smile came to his face almost as fast as he twisted the throttle. We would have liked to have gotten more seat time before the National, but he says he feels good so it’s on.
Last Saturday Village Creek hosted round 3 of the Central Yamaha Night series. The turn out was very nice, with several guys coming over for some track time in between Whitney and Oak hill. Tyler brought out a little guy from Oregon , Cobra rider 13 Austin Black. With a very healthy group of seasoned 50 riders, the show was on. Hunter and Tyler finished bookends around Austin who was most impressive with his jumping skill. Tyler took the win; Austin was next with Hunter rounding out the podium.
In the O/I and 4-6 class, Wesley Mihial Cobra 7 was on his game taking the top spot in the O/I with the Riley boys in the mix also. Justice was learning a lot during the 4-6 class against some fast kids. He had a few problems and a nasty crash that scared everyone but him. He rode well and we’ll see how much he learned when he takes on the big boys at Oak Hill this weekend.

Racing the last few weekends has been more exciting and action packed. The month of March really kicks of the new season, as if
Texas had seasons, but I guess you could say more series begin and more racers want to start well. Like many our Sponsored racers have some championships on their minds,
Down South it was Ryan Fesler finishing up the Texas Triple Crown series against some of the stiffest competition that series has seen. With riders like Challen Tennant and Gabriel keeping Ryan on his toes, in the end Ryan finished 1st overall with a win at Cycle Ranch. His Brother Kevin also got a big win but was not in the overall mix, great racing from both.
Tyler finished the Blizzard series with a couple big wins and started the Night National series with a few more big wins. He’s on pace for sure taking most every win up north locally, but Tyler wants to have some good showings at the nationals that kick off in mid March and I’m sure he’ll do well at both Whitney and Oak Hill.
Hunter Budd has had his hands full with the start of the new TORN series and some intense racing against Tyler at Village creek. On the TORN front Hunter rode to a strong 2nd behind one of the best Mr. Cole Neil. A super fast rider that is also a great overall fun kid, and fun to watch. Hunter also raced his 65 outdoors, almost grabbing the holeshot, running 3rd for several laps before his hands went away and he fell back to 6th. Much work to do for sure. At Village I understand that Hunter got the first moto wins, but missed by inches on the second moto. Wish I had been there, but hey I was at Daytona watching the pros play piggy.
Justice has also been to the track and ripping it up. He’ll be getting his new CX50JR this week and you guys look out because if you thought he was fast on the O/I he’ll be smoking on the JR. He rode Oak Hill opener and finished 3rd behind older kids on bigger bike. That’s over folks!
Also cross country racer Jason Norman put his Cobra on the top box at the TORN series grapping a really cool holeshot and taking it home. Great job Storm’in Norman!
Coming up there is so much to do, Many series and a few nationals to contest. So look for us at a race near you. I’m sure we’ll be somewhere in the mix. Thanks to all the Moms, Dads and Grandpas that help the guys day in and day out. Without their support this would be near impossible, you guys are the reason and it shows. Thanks

All
the
King
Cobra
of
Texas
riders
headed
to
Lake
Whitney
for
the
Loretta
Lynn
qualifier
and
the
last
race
in
the
Texas
Winter
series.
Without
exception
this
would
be
one
of
our
most
disappointing
outings
bar
none.
All
of
our
riders
pre-entered
and
arrived
Friday
night
so
we
could
be
ready
to
take
it
to
the
track
early.
But
sign
ups
had
closed
already
so
we
had
to
check
in
first
thing
in
the
morning
along
with
about
1500
others.
The
lines
were
stupid
long!
We
were
real
glad
we
pre-entered
because
some
people
in
the
other
lines
were
there
for
over
2
hours,
ending
sign
ups
after
11:00
at
which
time
everyone
was
told
they
would
only
get
1
moto
per
class
and
some
classes
moved
to
Sunday.
Needless
to
say
this
didn’t
go
over
well
and
at
first
I
thought
the
crowd
would
mob
the
poor
man
who
had
to
tell
everyone
this
news.
So
this
meant
1
moto
even
cut
from
5 to
3
laps.
No
room
for
error,
so
we
patiently
waited
till
our
outing
to
try
for
the
few
spots
to
qualify
for
the
regional.
We
had
a
full
gate
of
40
racers
in
the
50cc
7-8
class
half
trying
for
LL
the
other
for
just
the
local
winter
series.
This
should
never
have
been
mixed
because
some
good
riders
got
tangled
with
some
that
might
have
needed
more
track
time
before
they
got
on
that
track
for
sure.
Needless
to
say
it
was
tough
for
the
riders,
Fesler
was
most
impressive
taking
his
bike
to a
5th
and
getting
a
ticket
to
the
regional,
while
Sudderth
fell
just
one
short
because
of
some
lapper
issues,
while
Hunter
really
struggled
to
get
into
the
top
20
finishing
a
disappointing
19th.
Without
the
2nd
moto
there
was
no
way
for
Tyler
or
Hunter
to
redeem
their
rides.
Both
were
very
dejected
but
we
told
them
we’ll
try
again
at
another
qualifier.
In
the
Open
class
Hunter
managed
only
13th
and
after
we
check
the
standing
they
showed
him
35
wow
they
got
nothing
right
all
day.
The
good
news
was
Justice
Hayes
who
rode
the
wheels
off
his
PW50
to
get
a
solid
4th
and
earned
his
ticket,
he
also
surprised
some
4-6
guys
with
a
strong
run
on
his
CX50O/I
bike.
Finishing
7th
great
for
the
little
guy!
So
at
the
end
of
the
day
we
licked
our
wounds
and
tallied
the
damage,
Tyler
and
Hunter
will
have
to
regroup
and
try
again,
Ryan
and
Justice
made
the
regional
and
we
are
super
proud
of
them,
they
handled
the
track
really
great.
So
Whitney
ended
up
charging
full
price
for
half
the
track
time,
half
the
motos
and
half
a
chance
to
qualify.
Frustrated
was
the
word
of
the
day
and
it
all
ended
on
the
door
step
to
the
scoring
tower,
where
many
riders
and
parents
voiced
exactly
what
they
thought
of
the
management
there
and
for
that
race
I
must
admit
I’m
in
full
agreement
that
it
was
poorly
managed,
Many
things
could
have
been
done
and
should
have
been
done,
so
it
is
what
it
is
and
we
race
on.
I
still
think
about
the
guys
that
came
from
Colorado
,
all
that
way
and
they
end
up
getting
cut
to 2
laps,
I
wonder
if
they
got
paid
back
for
that
(2
Laps!)
Or
the
riders
from
the
65
7-9
class
that
got
moved
then
canceled
because
they
ran
out
of
light,
did
they
get
a
refund.
I
hope
things
change
because
Whitney
is a
great
track,
but
they
screwed
this
one
up.
Anyways,
we
met
some
really
neat
people
this
weekend
and
hope
to
see
all
the
riders
again
for
some
racing
excitement
again.
We
start
the
Cross
Country
series
this
weekend
as
well
as
the
badlands
Central
Yamaha
series.
So
we
hope
to
get
back
on
the
winning
track.

Racing
for
the
King
Cobra
Crew
has
been
fun
and
real
exciting
for
all
the
riders
lately.
Hunter
has
been
busy
on
the
track
at
both
the
O’Reilly
Arenacross
and
Oak
Hill.
Both
events
went
super
and
it
was
fun
to
watch
the
crowd
cheer
for
him
when
he
cleared
this
sweet
double
during
the
night
program,
he
backed
that
up
with
a
good
showing
at
Oak
hill,
but
had
one
get
off
that
could
be a
set
back.
He’s
fine
but
we
could
be
starting
over
on
the
jumping
thing.
Tyler
has
been
testing
and
practicing
and
racing,
a
very
busy
kiddo
for
sure.
He’s
excited
about
Whitney
coming
up
and
has
plans
to
do
well.
Tyler
has
been
chasing
Challen
Tennant
for
a
few
weeks
around
any
track
he
can
find
and
that
has
paid
off.
Tyler
was
able
to
pull
some
holeshots,
and
get
some
moto
wins
against
one
of
the
best
the
nation
has
so
we’re
feeling
pretty
good
about
where
Tyler
is.
The
youngest
rider
of
the
bunch
is
Justice
Hayes
a
rider
who
gets
better
every
time
and
has
the
fight
too
be a
front
runner.
Justice
has
been
getting
pointers
from
his
dad
and
trainer
and
boy
has
it
been
paying
off.
He’s
improved
with
leaps
and
bounds
for
sure.
Justice
has
preformed
great
over
the
winter
taking
a
firm
place
in
every
event
he
has
raced
and
with
the
new
CX50JR
on
the
way
he’ll
be
stepping
it
up
and
hard
to
beat
in
the
50cc
4-6
class.
Ryan
Fesler
has
been
riding
and
training
at
his
track
and
running
the
Triple
Crown
series
down
south
with
very
good
results.
Ryan
is
another
fun
kid
to
watch
with
a
strong
desire
to
place
high
in
the
podium.
He’ll
be a
real
talent
to
watch
also
come
Whitney
Spring
opener.
We’re
excited
about
all
of
our
riders
and
wish
them
the
best
this
year.
We
have
grand
plans
to
run
many
nationals
as
well
as a
ton
of
local
series.
So
look
for
us
at
the
track
to
help
with
your
bike
and
keep
it
in
top
notch
shape.
Also
we
plan
to
revamp
the
website
to
better
serve
our
customers.
Our
plan
is
to
add
an
E-Store
so
orders
can
flow
easier;
also
we
plan
to
add
the
Smooth
Industries
product
line
so
our
customers
can
buy
some
fun
stuff
for
the
kiddos.
Thanks
for
keeping
an
eye
on
the
site.
This
week
we
head
to
Houston
for
the
Supercross
and
we
can’t
wait.
After
the
race
we’ll
head
to
Highlands
MX
for
a
little
local
race
and
some
seat
time.

The
past
few
weeks
have
just
been
filled
with
racing
for
our
riders.
Between
the
Toyota
AX,
O’Reilly
AX,
Oak
Hills
Texas
Winter
Series
and
our
TORN
banquet
things
have
been
just
crazy
here.
Let
me
take
a
few
moments
to
ramp
you
up
to
our
next
set
of
races.
Let’s
start
with
the
Oak
Hill
race,
and
the
great
job
Tyler
Sudderth
and
Justice
Hayes
did
putting
there
Cobras
on
the
podium.
Tyler
has
been
dog
fighting
at
the
races
with
Challen
Tennant
,
the
kids
fast,
but
Tyler
has
been
able
to
keep
him
in
check,
taking
a
couple
of
holeshots
on
his
new
08’
CX50.
Backing
that
up
with
2nd
place,
he’s
in
the
hunt
for
sure.
Next
we
have
Justice
Hayes,
he’s
been
doing
great
and
by
far
set
the
standard
at
oak
hill,
aside
from
1
rider
and
a
few
soil
samples
Justice
would
have
cleaned
up,
but
instead
he
ended
with
a 2nd
in
each
class,
even
against
much
larger
older
kids.
That
series
has
really
been
getting
attention
and
is
the
bench
mark
for
many
southern
racers
right
now.
Fortunately
for
our
riders
we
find
our
selves
with
a
little
work,
but
in
good
shape.
Next
up
Hunter
and
I
spent
some
time
traveling
to
the
O’Reilly
AX
produced
by
MAP
productions.
The
trip
to
Odessa
was
not
so
good.
We
had
the
pace
and
were
on
target
to
finish
up
front,
making
the
mains
in
both
classes
with
a 2nd
in
the
7-8
and
4th
in
the
Mini-Mini.
That’s
when
things
went
bad.
Hunter’s
bike
lost
4
teeth
on
the
transmission.
We
opted
not
to
race
it
in
the
next
race
instead
we
hit
the
snack
bar
and
watched
the
pros
tangle
for
the
money.
A
week
later
we
headed
to
Waco
to
redeem
Cobra
and
that
we
did!
In
the
50cc
7-8
Hunter
was
able
to
fight
off
the
Munn
KTM
for
the
win
overall
and
gave
chase
to
some
KX65
riders
in
the
Mini-Mini
to
get
3rd
overall.
He
got
to
be
spotlighted
in
the
night
show
and
played
famous
for
15
minutes,
so
needless
to
say
he
was
excited.
Last
Sunday
we
took
Hunter
Budd
and
Jason
Norman
to
the
TORN
(Texas
off
Road
Nationals)
where
they
collected
their
prized
and
trophies
for
finishing
so
well.
Jason
Norman
(COB
536)
came
out
swinging
with
little
riding
experience
and
even
less
racing
time
he
was
able
to
learn
every
time
and
ended
the
season
with
the
1st
place
overall,
Hunter
would
have
had
1rst
overall,
but
we
missed
a
race
for
a
funeral
he
did
the
best
he
could
and
ended
with
2nd
overall.
To
his
joy
he
also
won
the
KX65
that
was
raffled
to
the
Pee-Wee
class.
Next
up
we
have
Tulsa
AX ,
Austin
AX
and
Village
Creek
racing
the
blizzard
series.
Should
be a
good
time
and
we
hope
to
se
all
of
you
there.

14 Jan
2008
Reunion
Arena
brought
the
Toyota
Arenacross
to town
and
excitement
to the
riders.
Tyler
rode the
Saturday
program
on his
65 and
did
well,
even
pulling
a real
exciting
holeshot
in the
main.
The next
day was
amateur
day so
we
headed
to the
track to
get some
practice
and have
some
fun.
Only
Hunter Budd
and
Tyler
Sudderth
showed
for the
50 7-8
class
but they
made it
a race,
getting
more
attention
and
cheers
then the
big bike
classes.
Tyler
and
Hunter
both
mixed it
up
battling
for 5
laps in
each
race,
but in
the end
it came
down to
the
corner
speed
hunter
had
coupled
with the
gearing
changes
his
wrench
made for
him
(That
would be
me).
Hunter
ended
with the
1rst
place
trophy
but man
was it a
nail
biter!
On hand
for the
50 4-6
class
were the
Texas
O/I
brothers,
even
though
they are
not
related
usually
you’ll
find all
three
riders
at the
race
trying
to get
the win.
Riley
Childers,
Riley
Allen
and
Wesley
Mihel
all ride
the
Cobra 50
O/I and
all had
tons of
fun
racing
each
other on
the
track.
All
great
kids and
fun to
watch
look for
them to
because
the
future
of 50cc
racing
here in
Texas.
8 Jan
2008
Wow what
a
weekend,
the
weather
was
perfect
and the
50 CC
racing
was even
better.
With a
dozen or
more
snow
bird
racers
down
from the
frigid
north
the turn
out for
the
Winter
Series
Race at
Freestone
MX Park
was even
better
then
great.
Our King
Cobra of
Texas
team
riders
Justice
Hayes,
Ryan
Fesler,
Tyler
Sudderth
and
Hunter Budd
all
showed
up to
have a
little
fun in
the sun
on a
national
track.
All the
riders
had good
results
starting
with
Justice
Hayes
(COB
808).
This
little
guy just
amazes
me every
time he
takes
the
rack.
Justice
has
fight
and it
shows,
even
with a
few
mishaps
Justice
was able
to pull
out 5th
place in
the O/I
class
with a
6-2 moto
score,
and in
the 4-6
class he
matched
his
finish
with 5th
overall
against
some
bigger
riders
and
bigger
bikes.
Next up
was the
50cc 7-8
class
and was
it
packed,
with 21
riders
from
around
the
country
and
Texas
some of
the best
were on
hand for
some
winter
training.
The show
started
and
ended
with
Challen
Tennant
(COB 71)
taking
the win,
King
Cobra of
Texas
Riders
backing
each
other up
with a 2nd
for
Tyler
Sudderth
and a 3rd
for Ryan
Fesler.
Hunter
struggled
with
some
jumps
and
posted a
respectable
8th
place
with a
6-9 moto
score.
For the
50cc
open it
was just
that,
wide
open.
Daniel
Nickell
(COB
100)
from
Lawton
OK
keep the
field
honest
taking
the
overall
with a
3-1, but
this one
could
have
gone to
any
number
of
riders
because
the
racing
was
intense.
Tyler
ended
the day
with a 4th
with a
4-3 moto
score
and Ryan
finished
out with
a 6th
overall
packing
a 5-7
score.
Hunter
Budd was
consistent
with his
finishes
but
struggled
with the
track
for sure
ending
up with
a 8-9
for 9th
overall.
Once the
last
gate
fell and
all was
said and
done
everyone
remarked
about
the
racing
and the
consciences
was 08
will be
a great
year for
the 50
class
with
change
in store
for
every
one.
Great
job to
the King
Cobra of
Texas
riders
who head
to the
Toyota
ArenaCross
for next
weekend.
7 Jan
2008 While at the
Supercross opener I was fortunate enough to run
across a rider I had meet a few years ago. As chance
would have it Jimmy Jarrett was also at A1 helping
out Smith Goggles doing prep for the Supercross guys
who feared the worst from old maid mother nature.
Jimmy a super guy kindly agreed to give me an
exclusive interview while he stuffed roll offs and
wrapped up goggles for the soon to be muddy riders.
Check
out the
entire
interview
3 Jan
2008 Last
weekend
the guys
were
riding
and
mixing
it up
with the
locals.
Justice
Hayes
(Cob
808)
went to
one of
his
favorite
tracks,
Village
Creek MX
, for
the long
post poned
Turkey
Bowl
race.
Justice
had some
real fun
and did
super
well
with in
the only
class he
could
run the
open 50
class.
After a
little
practice
he was
back on
track
and
setting
a speedy
pace.
When it
all came
down to
the
flag,
justice
finished
a strong
2nd
against
some
fast
Kings.
Congratulations
to the
little
speedster
of the
team.
The
following
day
Hunter Budd
(Cob
399) and
Tyler
Sudderth
(Cob
317)
headed
to
Buffalo
Creek to
try
their
hand at
the
blizzard
series.
The
racing
was
impressive
with
Challen
Tennant
(Cob 71)
in the
mix and
super
fast.
His
Cobra
was
setting
the pace
keeping
Tyler
and
Hunter
hard at
work.
Both
managed
to take
advantage
of a
mechanical
problem
in the
last
moto,
got to
take the
good
with the
bad. By
the end
of the
day it
was a
Cobra
sweep
for the
Holeshots
and
Cobra’s
taking
the
Gold,
Silver
and
Bronze.
Good job
guys,
Hunter
pulled
off a 2nd
and 3rd
and
Tyler
stacked
his
trailer
with a 1st
and 2nd,
while
Challen
pulled
away
with a 1st
and 3rd
after
some
trouble.
Next
weekend,
the guys
will be
running
Freestone
then the
Toyota
AX for
the week
after in
Dallas
, I’ll
be at
Anaheim
1 with
my
beautiful
wife for
a much
deserved
break
checking
out the
SuperCross
opener,
but
we’ll
have the
trailer
at the
track
staffed
to
support
our
riders.
Good
Luck to
all the
guys
racing
Freestone
MX this
weekend
and keep
it up
we’re
excited
to be a
apart of
your
racing
dreams.
